"Barrio Libre", or "neighborhood freedom", is a project ReIMAGINE started in the Mission District in 2005 following a string of tragic homicides. Our intent was to apply the "broken window" theory to bring about greater safety and community ownership in the Mission District. We hang positive "propaganda" posters around the neighborhood through local businesses, pick up trash and do graffiti removal in conjunction with a city-funded program.
Join us to walk the streets, greet neighbors, hang posters, talk to local businesses, pick up trash and remove graffiti. Wear clothes that you can get dirty in and bring $5-$7 to go out for a burrito after we are done working.
Donations gladly accepted to help us underwrite the costs of our poster campaign.
ReIMAGINE is a center for life integration. Fueled by the life and teachings of Christ we aspire to revolutionize how people live their lives and empower leaders who will revolutionize their communities. www.reimagine.org
